A Good Sleep
A Good Sleep

Even though I might have some trouble winding down, practising the following technique puts me to sleep almost at once. It is somewhat like falling asleep in front of the TV.

Dim the lights. Lie down. Do not close your eyes. Take slow deep breaths. Quiet your mind by focusing on your breathing, and maybe by counting the number of times you breathe out. You might feel your eyelids grow heavy, but do not close your eyes. Soon it will take some effort to keep the eyes open. Keep on struggling, and when you can not keep your eyes open no more, well then you are probably already asleep. Remember to take slow deep breaths, until you fall asleep.

This way of falling asleep is very, very nice.
