Past Lives Can Not Save You
I am currently in the process of writing down a science fiction story.
I do it for fun and it's nothing more then a pet hobby project of mine.
The story is a fusion of ideas and thoughts that I have had, thus it is
partly a reflection of things that have captured my imagination.
Those who want to can visit this page and read excerpts of the story.
Prolog
"Mother what is chambra?" the child asked his mother while poking around in the dirt with a broken twig.
The mother wiped the sweat of her forehead, put down her shovel and took a break from gardening.
"It is not who you truly are, but who you think you are! If you would get rid of all chambra, positive and negative, you would become enlightened; at all with all," she said slowly, selecting her words with care.
"Several hundreds thousands revolutions ago, on a place called Earth, chambra was known as karma. It is not something you have, rather it is what makes you," she added.
Obviously unaware of the philosophical ramifications of his mothers argument, the child replied with an absent-minded sound in his voice, "When I grow up I want to be like you!"
Smilingly his mother patted his head, "That is nice for me to hear, but do you know what I prefer? I prefer you stay you!"
A fellow chorintian standing next to them, overhearing their conversation, took a break from shovelling as well and interjected with an educational tone in her voice, "Become who you truly are and not who you think you are! We must all perform chambra reduction, it is our duty!"
The child"s mother stared distantly at the horizon. The arcing sky was heavenly blue high above and where it converged with the verdant hills far beyond, the sky had the touch of perfect blue. It nearly always looked like that.
Do you want to read more?
I have decided to put excerpts of the text on the site.
Now those who feel like it can check in and and check out how
things are developing.
If you have any comments, critic or what ever, write me :-).
I hope that doing something like this and getting something
"out there", will stimulate and motivate me to continue writing.
Why?
I could say that I like to read science fiction books, but that would be an understatement;
I love the genre. The kind of science fiction that I like the most, is the one where the story
is believable, yet so extreme in its content that you couldn't possibly believe that what you read has actually taken place or
could take place in real life. Stories out of this world, about this world.
I began writing in Januray 2007. I have completed a first draft. My goal is to be finished 2012.
